Membership in the Falmouth Figure Skating Club includes two ice sessions per week during our season. Our Club Ice sessions are held on Sunday afternoon and Tuesday evenings. Club Ice on these days is divided into low, intermediate and high levels. If you are not sure which session you should be skating just check with your coach.
Sunday Ice Times: Low 2:00 - 2:45, Intermediate 2:45 - 3:30, High 3:40 - 4:25
Fall Tuesday Ice Times: Low 6:10 - 6:55, Intermediate 6:55 - 7:40, High 7:50 - 8:35
So that our members can further their skills we have purchased additional ice sessions from the Falmouth Ice Arena. Skating during these sessions, not included in your membership, is offered for an additional nominal fee. This "extra ice" is available on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday afternoons*. We offer two 45-minute freestyle sessions each day, they are NOT divided by ability, skate whichever sessions work best for you.
Saturday Ice Times: Session (A) 2:20 - 3:05, Session (B) 3:15 - 4:00
Fall Monday & Wednesday Ice Times: Session (A) 3:20 - 4:05, Session (B) 4:15 - 5:00
Winter Monday Ice Times: Session (A) 4:00 - 4:45, Session (B) 4:55 - 5:40
Winter Wednesday Ice Times: Session (A) 3:20 - 4:05, Session (B) 4:15 - 5:00
Please note that extra ice times are subject to change, especially during holidays, vacations and hockey try-outs. Always check the website for time changes.
During the 2010-2011 season extra Ice sessions may be purchased in two ways.
1 WALK ON - PAY CASH As always, FFSC members can 'walk on' which means you show up at a session, sign in, and pay Mrs. Brianna at the window. The FFSC member walk on rate this year will be $13 per session and exact change is always appreciated. Non-members can walk on for a fee of $16 per session. Walk-on skaters are allowed on the ice on a first come/first served basis until the ice capacity is reached.
2 WALK ON - PAY COUPON Additionally, brand new for this year we are trying a pilot program which may be of interest to those with irregular schedules. We are instituting a coupon program where FFSC members will be able to buy extra ice in coupon books of five (5) sessions for $55. These books will be available opening night and thereafter from Mrs. Brianna. To use a coupon the skater simply presents it to Mrs. B and signs in. We hope this program is successful and that it encourages you to skate as often as you can! Members are cautioned that these coupons should be treated like cash and will not be replaced if lost. Skaters paying with coupons are allowed on the ice on a first come/first served basis until the ice capacity is reached.
We hope the coupon program is a positive change, especially for skaters with flexible schedules who had previously not been able to take advantage of contract cost savings. However, this will require slightly more planning for those of you who regularly used contract ice and may not be in the habit of bringing payment to each session. PLEASE! We love Mrs. B. and how generously she gives of her time to FFSC. We do want her to have to be the bad guy by turning skaters away who do not have payment. At the Board's direction she will not be able to accomodate, "My mom is bringing it when she picks me up", or "I'll give you two coupons when I come next time." For this program to work skaters MUST sign in and present either $13 cash or a coupon to be allowed on extra ice sessions. Coupons will not be sold individually.
Winter Tuesday Ice Times: Low 6:20 - 7:05, Intermediate 7:05 - 7:50, High 8:00 - 8:45
